Shell Oil Sign circa 1900 with 1909 Shell logo.
This sign was made for indoor use only.
This is my interpretation of a Victorian era Shell Oil Co. Sign. This piece is all handmade, hand-painted and hand-lettered in the Victorian style featuring period correct letter fonts. In keeping with the era the lettering has a two color beveled outline, an inter shadow as well as a drop shadow in a beep brilliant blue. All colors used are correct for the period as is the 1909 Shell logo. The sign itself is made of solid pine and the back framing is oak, again keeping with sign construction of the day. No detail was spared in the making of this 13 1/2″ X 49″ piece, right down to the patina on the eye-hooks, nail heads, frame and the sign itself. Sign features 3 heavy duty saw tooth hangers and is ready for display. This is one of one and will not be reproduced to retain it’s uniqueness.
This is a perfect addition for an office, garage or commercial location looking to set a mood.
