1960’s Ed “BIG DADDY” Roth Fiberglass German (Surfers) Motorcycle Helmet
This rare and hard to find piece came out of my own collection and I’ve had it for the last 40 years. It’s made from hand laid fiberglass with a hard Styrofoam removable liner, (See photos). The foam padding in the liner is falling apart and could be easily replaced. The outer shell shows wear and there is chipping along the edges, the color is silver metal flake. As far as I can determine with my research it’s a real BDR helmet. When I asked Ed in the late 80’s he said it sounded like one of his.
This helmet I’m sure is not nor has ever been DOT approved but will make a killer prop for any 60’s style chopper display.
